Dr. Paul James Roob – Chiropractor & Community Steward
Dr. Paul James Roob’s journey to Vermillion Chiropractic, PC began in Rosholt, South Dakota, where he grew up and graduated high school in 1993 after participating in sports, band, theatre, and choir. His path brought him back to Vermillion that same year to attend the University of South Dakota (USD). It was during his undergraduate years at USD that he met his wife, Sarah, who was completing her own degree in Physical Therapy—a partnership that continues to anchor his life and work in our community.
After earning his bachelor’s degree from USD in 1997, Dr. Roob traveled to Davenport, Iowa, to pursue his doctorate at the renowned Palmer College of Chiropractic. At Palmer, he distinguished himself through active involvement in motion palpation and sports injury clubs, and he dedicated countless hours to serving underprivileged populations through Palmer’s Community Outreach clinics. He graduated with his Doctorate in Chiropractic in 2000 and immediately returned home to Vermillion. That same year, he established Vermillion Chiropractic, PC, fulfilling his dream of bringing expert, compassionate care to the town he calls home.
Family remains central to Dr. Roob’s life and values. He and Sarah are proud parents of five children, all of whom attended St. Agnes School through fifth grade. Raised with an emphasis on giving back, their children have grown up learning the importance of service and volunteer involvement within the community—values that mirror the clinic’s own commitment to education, mentorship, and wellness outreach.
Today, Dr. Roob combines traditional adjusting techniques with a holistic wellness approach, empowering patients to thrive through exercise, strengthening, and nutrition. Whether through patient care, teaching future health professionals through USD collaborations, or raising a family rooted in service, Dr. Roob’s dedication to Vermillion runs deep.
